empathogen (zoomers can only write in ALL CAPS or lowercase apparently woo I feel fucking old writing that can't wait to be 30) surprised us all spiteful tongues with its great performances, both musically and vocally, and its tasteful nods to many things pop and rock. Shame there are some nothing pieces scattered throughout that break the album's flow. Nevertheless, this shows great promises.

Willow Smith's latest release, ?Empathogen,? affirms her ability to craft a sophisticated and expansive listening experience. This album shines with a bright collection of art pop tracks, weaving together elements of singer-songwriter music, jazz, and indie. It's evident that Willow adopts a potpourri approach here, blending a rich variety of styles into a coherent whole. Despite the album?s innovative strengths, its primary drawback lies in the brevity of the tracks. Many pieces end just as they begin to unfold, leaving a desire for more extended compositions to fully explore and develop the ideas presented. Additionally, Willow?s venture into less familiar musical territories occasionally results in uneven performances. Nevertheless, ?Empathogen? is a commendable effort, showcasing significant highlights and an intriguing direction. It's a promising indication of what might be on the horizon as Willow continues to refine her craft and push her musical boundaries.
