4.0 excellent | BladeRunner | May 11th 24 | While not reaching the heights of its predecessors, this record maintains its focus on a retro-futuristic, Blade Runner inspired story of sentient AI breaking out of its technological restraints to explore humanity, not finding what it expected. The band explores a more synth-driven sound, with really only a couple of minor missteps. Obviously, the theme is right up my alley, and I am digging the music. As usual, Slayes is in top form here.

3.0 good | Bro has djent in his pie | May 10th 24 | I was hoping that this album would fully embrace the alternative metal/power metal crossover style that 'Ghosts in the Mist' hinted at. Unfortunately, it only touches that sound briefly, which weakens the overall impact of the tracks. It's a shame because this was a real opportunity for the band to reinvent themselves in a wonderful way. Instead, most of the songs just feel like weaker versions of what the band has done in the past.
