4.5 superb | Nicksput | December 29th 17 | An overlooked classic of 90's gangsta rap, without any huge singles, We Come Strapped was once one of the top 5 albums in the country. This was Eiht's best record by a long shot. His flow is excellent, but it's the beats that really make this special. There's some smooth pimp-type shit (All 4 Tha Money, Nothing but the Gangsta and Can I Still Kill It?), but it also features some of the most threatening beats I've ever heard (Def Wish 3, N!ggaz Make the Hood go Round, Goin' out like G'z and the incredible title track and Take 2 With Me), the basslines are so sinister, and it fits the limited lyrical content perfectly. The bass is also pretty interesting, even sorta sparse on some songs, so it's one of my favorites to listen to in the car. The lyrics are the low point, without much variety, but Eiht has always been at his best when he sticks to one subject, be it sex, crime capers, hating DJ Quik, as long as he's focused on one thing, the lyrics are effective enough. This underrated gem deserves far more recognition than it got.

3.0 good | GrimyMurkMartian | March 1st 16 | Excellent instrumentals, but MC Eiht's lyrical content is so repetitive that each set of lyrics could appear on any of the instrumentals. It's probably the most gangsta album I've ever heard and because of that, Eiht's verses (as repetitive and interchangeable as they are) are mean as hell.rBest Track's: Nuthin' but the Gangsta, We Come Strapped, All for the Money, Compton Cyco
