| 4.5 superb | ajcollins15 | October 17th 24 | I don?t know if I would categorize this as an EP, with it being 36-minutes in length. But the bands debut EP is a showing of how you can make some interesting and expansive modern art rock in the 2020?s. Ugly definitely pulls a lot from bands like Black Country, New Road and even some of the modern post-emo scene for their explorative album ?Twice Around the Sun?. Take the jamming and melodic ?Shepherd?s Carol? it is just a progressive rock ragger that takes a lot of those classic ideas and modernizes them. In many ways this band is doing traditional things with a modern context.

| 3.7 great | Erwann S. EMERITUS | August 25th 24 | Heya another windmill band!!!! Ugly's EP is one of dramatic progressive-leaning indie rock (of fucking course) whose focus on pastoral choral help them differentiate themselves within the scene. They can be a bit less obvious about their love for the 60s, but this is nevertheless a very solid early EP.

| 5.0 classic | Mser94 | June 3rd 24 | This is a fantastic debut. Really interesting blend of post-rock, folk rock, classic rock, art punk, and prog a la Lift to Experience, Fleet Foxes, Adjy, "In Rainbows"-era Radiohead, Modest Mouse, Crosby, Stills & Nash and BCNR. Each track here shows the full spectrum of influences the band brings to the table and their mastery of each respective musical input. The fact this is a debut EP is insane. Cannot wait to see what these guys do next
