4.0 excellent | ajcollins15 | April 11th 24 | The fourth album from singer/songwriter Lizzy McAlpine presents a poignant exploration of aging and its implications. "Older" offers a simplistic yet heartfelt narrative, akin to recent releases in the girly folk genre, reminiscent of artists like Phoebe Bridgers, Clairo, and Lucy Dacus. If you appreciate emotionally resonant lyrics paired with expertly performed chamber pop and indie folk arrangements, then "Older" is a perfect fit for you. However, the album suffers from occasional disjointedness, particularly at the beginning, yet it still boasts some truly remarkable tracks.
