An incredible offering of indigenous death doom enhanced by brooding tribal elements. The tasteful use of tribal percussion and death whistles makes this an especially fun album to spin again and again. And that cover art? King Charles wishes he could.

It sure goes, but Tzompantli's proposition doesn't include enough Indigenous nods for Beating the Drums of Ancestral Force (yeah) to be more than a cool death doom record.

Not an album I listen to all the time by any means but one you can instantly appreciate from the first few minutes. Starts off with some drums being beaten into oblivion and quickly evolves into a truly ritualistic and unique death doom metal experience. The natural sounding drums combined with the growled and grunted chanting makes for a cathartic experience. Shout out to the album artwork as well, fantastic.
