Maybe I feel too much of a connection with the adorable furry blue monster, but The Best of Grover will always be considered by me to be one of the greatest albums of all time. A compilation album of all Grover's best musical numbers (though there is a startling absence of megahit "Monster in the Mirror), these are fifteen tracks of nostalgic happy wonder. Highlights include teaming up with Cookie Monster for "Fuzzy and Blue," the inspirational opener "Proud of Me." the slightly risque "What Do I Do When I'm Alone?" and deep, philosophical numbers "I Have Feet" and "I Am Blue." If you are not touched by Grover's attempt to build the biggest house ever on the closing track and heartbroken when it falls over, you have no soul. But just like always, Grover gets back up and keeps going, providing a lesson to us all the best things in life tend to be the simplest. And furriest, and bluest.
