As with every KOL studio album of the last 15 years, I have approached the band's 9th release with the hope that this will finally be the album with which the rock family will return to the dirty rock?n?roll roots that everyone fell in love with in the first place. Despite this not being the case (once again), Can We Please Have Fun is a fresh, shiny, energy-driving album with sparky tunes and varied tempos. Highlights for me are: the first single 'Mustang', a fun, up-beat KOL classic which together with the rowdy 'Hesitation Generation, remind of the band's early days; the atmospheric and groovy 'Actual Daydream'; and the pulsative, grooving bop opener 'Ballerina Radio'. So the answer to the question if they ?Are we still having fun?", the answer is "Yes", but they could have had a whole lot more.

This could be kings of Leons best work. Such a great groove on this album. Really flows well. rThe last song, seen is one of the best songs they have ever done. rBest tracks, rainbow ball, nowhere to run, mustang and seen.

Pleasantly mundane, I've always found this band to be lovely background music. Very inoffensive with some nice little melodies and guitar licks.
