Possibly Kerry's best writing since Seasons. I like this a lot more than Repentless, anyway. That one felt like he was writing in the shadow of Araya and the ghost of Hanneman, and they were subconsciously getting in the way, whispering "tsk tsk tsk, that's not what Jeff would do!" This one sounds like Slayer and all, but it clearly benefited from the absence of nervous producers breathing down his neck to make it sound like Slayer

With the exception of "Seasons in the Abyss", Slayer always kind of bored me. Things only seemed to get worse after Jeff Hanneman died (most the songs I liked were written, at least partially, by him). His loss removed a dimension from what was already a pretty dimensionless band. Anyway, Kerry King recording under his own name has resulted in one of the most classic sounding Slayer releases in years, and it's good. Go figure.

I expected a worse verion of Slayer and I kind of got it. At least when compared to Slayer's best albums. But this is actually better than I expected. Good Job, Kerry King!

I hate Kerry King, but I can't really bring myself to hate this album. It's competent, albeit formulaic, by-the-numbers thrash. No memorable moments, riffs, or ideas, but nothing worth getting upset over. It's fine.

It's a good Slayer album. Some great fast parts and some parts dragged out a bit. Overall a solid release.

Sorry y'all, this one sucks. Nameless, formless, pseudo hard-ass thrash without a single memorable moment, and it shows Kerry King hasn't had anything left in the tank since 2009. Hard pass.

Sound like Kerry joined Death Angel more than anything else. Only Slayer vibe I got was in the song, Crucifixation.

More or less what I thought it would be. Very good for the style. Mark Osegueda was a great choice for the vocalist. Very good performances from all the various musicians. If you like Slayer, you'll find a lot to like here.
