4.0 excellent | cjbizzlebizzle | July 28th 24 | A mish mash of noise rock and post-hardcore/punk from Vancouver ample dissonance, energy and wonderful raw production vibes. One of the best things about this record is it just sounds like it is being played live instead of being endlessly polished in post. Another great thing is the song structures that generally establish a verse-chorus of each track but then breakdown and meander into noise breaks, random bridges and fun tempo shifts. The vocals are a nice mix of yelling and singing and suit the noisy instrumentation very well. Favorite moments are the lyric about selling Bitcoin to middles-choolers in 'Performance Art' that swiftly moves into a chorus and a spiraling noise section, the energy of 'How Many Fools...', the danceable yet strange 'Entity/Sector', the tension dynamics and vox in 'Force' and the blizzard of noise and dissonance in the title track.

3.5 great | Erwann S. STAFF | March 5th 24 | Snow as a Metaphor for Death is quite the cool debut record from a rocking band that threw each of their influences into a big bowl (noise rock, post-hardcore, post-punk, industrial) before mixing the whole lot for a noisy omelet whose bites alternate between the tasty and the messy.

4.5 superb | ajcollins15 | January 31st 24 | There are numerous positive aspects to glean from the sophomore release by SENTRIES. Firstly, the band extensively explores various facets of noise rock, whether it's the slacker and post-punk-leaning 'How Many Fools Can I Kill Today?' or the full-fledged industrial techno vibes of 'Entity/Selector.' Surprisingly, there's even an alternative rock track later in the record reminiscent of Radiohead. Undoubtedly, the band ventured into a myriad of ideas, and for the most part, it paid off. 'Snow as a Metaphor for Death' emerges as an energetic and blistering noise rock record, fearlessly experimenting with different styles.
