Brutal avant-blackened mathcore with jazzy passages - yeah another one of those!!! Hoplites' frenzy onslaughts make for an impressive listen - especially with that pristine production - that would nevertheless need some refinement for his wildest creative decisions to consistently land.

Surprisingly not a ton to actually say about this album beyond the fact that there aren't many records that are so chaotic and spastic but absolutely demand the attention of the listener over a nearly one hour runtime. Dissonant Dillinger-esque leads combine with absurdly groovy/heavy riffs clash into well placed sax overtures in a one man show as impressive as any solo venture. Dense and full of treats to find upon repeat listens. This will never happen but this instantly skyrocketed to albums I would beg to see played in full in a live setting. What a way to open up 2024.
