When I downloaded a single off the Metal Blade Records' site, I downloaded the album right after I heard it. It really takes a whole album to fully understand a band. Imagine wading through quicksand. As you're struggling for your life, your life flashes before your eyes. Compress all the emotions you feel (as well as the weight of the struggle for life itself) into a single record and there you have Masturbate in Praise of Black Satan.

One night I was listening to Yngwie Malmsteen when I read the CD jacket and discovered one of his musical influences was Masturbate in Praise of Black Satan. I decided to give classical a try and was entirely blown away. I can see why Yngwie was moved to music by the likes of Apator. Simply incredible....

Masturbate In Praise Of Black Satan is essentially the audible recording of the element of Satan, in all of its blasphemy and rape, and one could not ask for anything more.

Yesterday, as i was shredding the famous Yngwie Malmsteen song "Masturbate in Praise of Black Satan" on guitar, i found myself wondering where the influence of this song came from. Looking into my trustworthy bible of all things unholy, the "Encyclopedia of Metal" i skimmed the pages and found that Yngwie was influenced by one man Apator. After giving Apator a listen it was blantantly obvious where Yngwie recieved all his talent: Apator is a band filled with neo-classical genius, fueled by the scales of hell and delivered with a clean, polished production. Awesome stuff.

I like to think that this album was recorded during either a horrific drug trip influenced by Beelzebub, or maybe Robert van Arnhem was born with life-threatening diarrhea. But no matter how one wants to see it, Masturbate in Praise of Black Satan has flames which grow higher; everybody stop delivering those 5's.
