Banging garage post-punk that always follows the same "loud-quiet-loud" formula with evident derivativeness, but shit their charisma is off the charts and their explosiveness make up for their lack of consistent songwriting.

Sprints is a four-piece, Dublin-based rock band that has managed to marry raveled alt-rock with wild bursts of punk and grunge in this debut album called Letter to Self. It is a dynamic album with a heavy subject matter as the heavy lyrical content touches solemn, ordinary topics of the perplexing world we live in with a sense of honesty. It has rage, it is uplifting, explosive and channels energy from start to finish. This is band worth monitoring. Recommendations: "Heavy", "Shaking Their Hands", "Can't Get Enough of It", "Adore Adore Adore"

Sprints' proper, commercially-noticeable LP plays into the many strengths they have previously put on display in their indie work, but provides a glitzier, fuller production. That said, they have never really been outstanding musicians, even though they are well aware of the instrumental limitations and are trying their darndest to make up for that in song-writing and emotional intensity.
