I actually really enjoyed the final track, and there was a special kind of quirkiness to the title track. Not as good as black saint but I?ll go to the ends of the earth to prove that album is overrated so

Of course it's a Mingus record, so the bass is, like him, thicc and constantly evolving. The bookends are two cool tracks, the first one being a furious jam led by Mingus' bass, while the last one is a creepy tune supported by equally-creepy spoken words. However, the two tracks in the middle - one of them being dedicated to Charlie Parker - feel more like interludes between the monumental bookends than trve standalone tracks.

This is the first album where Charles Mingus' eccentricty really worked out for me. Such a exciting and wild listen, the opener in particular is amazing. Love the weird clown stories in the second half too, gives the record so much character
