A TOTAL breath of repugnant and stagnated air for fans of the whole "Extreme Metal Genre"....Falling in line with bands such as: Behemoth, Nile, Lyfthrasyr, Deivos, etc etc etc. While not having drum work quite as insane as Nile or Behemoth mind you, but nevertheless STILL being a VERY empowering and brutal listen...With a very epic tinge to it, what with the random and honestly well-placed spoken illustrations throughout the album during the songs...rather than have them solely as filler-tracks.
Intensely epic Guitar Work in the vein of Behemoth and almost Decrepit Birth-ish style soloing. Catchy and quirky rhythm riffing, very solid drumming, and an EXCELLENT use and moderation of Black Metal chord work being a constant.
All of this aside, I truely believe that the most impressive trait about these guys is that they are originally from Huntsville, Alabama....and STILL sound this good. Me living in Alabama, I am all too familiar with Alabama's track record with bands....Let alone Metal Bands. So hearing these guys is really a refreshing kick in the teeth.
Nothing about this album I immediately disagree with; A MUST for any generalized Metal/Death Metal/Black Metal fan....Of course I dont expect everyone to like this; As his vocals I could easily see getting on certain peoples nerves; But I personally love them.
