Not a fan of Earl's trademark narcoleptic mumbling style of rap, but I was pleasantly surprised at how enjoyable this was for me. I don't know if it's mostly due to Alc's production or something else, but yeah, give it a spin if his past records didn't do much for you.

Alan Daniel Maman really has earned the right to his stage name The Alchemist. His treatment of the guitar and piano parts here is gorgeous.

It?s an Earl Sweatshirt record, it?s slow-paced and somewhat uninspired abstract hip hop that any stoner would be pleased to put on. Something about the Alchemists beats even feels as phones in as this brand of abstract hip hop has been famous for. It?s a vibe when it?s on for a while, but by the end, I?m about over it.

The most cruise control record either of these guys have put out in a minute, leaves much to be desired from two of the best in their respective fields at the moment

I feel Earl needs more rhythmic beats to carry his apathetic delivery, and I don't feel the drumless aesthetic chosen here was the best choice. Quality beats and good rapping, just nothing impressive in both artists' catalog.
