| 3.0 good | ajcollins15 | July 6th 23 | I was really looking forward to the new Amber record because of how lush and adventurous her 2019 debut album, ?Good at Falling?, was. However, on her sophomore album, she strips a lot of the ambient and synth-based ideas she has to go for a full alt-pop and indietronica record, reminiscent of the early 2010s indie boom. Simplistic and sometimes enchanting guitar words backing her brash lyricism, it has the formula to be great. But several tracks on here completely derail the listening experience by either being underwhelming or flat-out boring. Still, there are more positive tracks than there are negative ones, therefore making for an overall above-average listening experience. Just wish she would go back to her more experimental side with various shades of pop music.
