Incredibly dense while still maintaining an airy elegance, The American Dollar's follow up to their exceptional debut A Memory Stream is nothing less than a stellar progression. With Atlas the post rock duo utilize heavy drum loops, elegant keyboard effects and basically all things at their disposal to create crisp soundscapes which is sure to remind you of acts like Boards Of Canada and Hammock. Whether this comes to have enough of a personal, emotional effect to have lasting value or not has not been determined but nevertheless, this is sure to be one of the most lush records of the year and if more albums follow in this suit, 2010 is sure to be what '09 wasn't, an amazing year for post rock.
