The consummate guilty pleasure band; De Staat deliver their heavily electronic-influenced alt-rock in the cheesiest, most kitsch manner possible while grinning and winking like a fuckin clown. They're a Twin Peaks of music, dabbling in the absurd while consistently poking and nudging the audience, and the audience is 100% in on the charade. There may be bands better, but none quite as effortlessly entertaining.
