Altogether, I think it doesn't deserve more than a 2.5. But some songs on this very lengthy release are actually really good! The good news: Xasthur play black metal again! Personally I dug these avant-garde compositions (some late Blut Aus Nord-alike stuff!) with odd guitar themes accompanied by haunting synths (f.e. "A Future To Fear II" and "Live Like A Broken Mirror"). The bad parts: this is a long 100% instrumental album, filled with some horrible (and a few not bad) dark folk songs, some "meh" death metal tracks and again, some soulless ambient tracks. This album is therefore contains songs from various styles, but I'm afraid: not for the better.
