I admit my obsession with Twin Peaks as a show has definitely lended a hand in this classic rating. However, the music is one of the show's strongest tools - whether it's implemented to signify character themes or motifs, add to the postmodern parody, or perhaps to drag the viewer into the surreal, dream-scape world - a nightmarish reality conjured up by none other than Lynch. With that being said, Badalamenti never gets overly technical with this score. For the most part, the music is simple but executed with the finest precision. Smell those Douglas Firs!

Okay, I know. Before you hate me, let me say this. The show is absolutely incredible. It?s one of the greatest TV series of all time, and the score works in the show. It uses a very soapy, cheesy formula and soundtrack, which is kinda annoying in the show because they reuse the same themes every episode, but the soap nature of the show works extremely well as a contrast to its extremely dark parts. That being said, on its own, it?s generic, annoying, and it doesn?t work without the show to back it up.

One of the very best soundtracks the world of television has to offer. It perfectly captures the weird, odd world of Twin Peaks and excels at being entertaining even without the show itself.
