Can't believe I'm saying this in 2023, but this is actually good. With the list of featured artists it simply cannot be bad.

While I can't say I'll ever return to it in the near future, it is undeniable that Skrillex has crafted a really frantic and fun dubstep album. The features lend themselves to the album's most interesting moments. Like the spaced out drop on Hydrate or the hectic rattling on XENA. Another highlight is the Supersonic where the rusty sharp synths cut through the drop like a finely tuned knife. Very tight production, although a bit bland of a sound palette, sounds so much similar to a dozen other recent electronic projects. Although, where it matters, the arrangements, interesting samples, and synth choices do help elevate it past its otherwise boring production.

Skrillex revives some of his dubstep roots with a house aesthetic and (sometimes) UK garage beats. It's definitely great to hear mainstream club music, but it's also evident Moore didn't try his best in terms of composition. Good enough tunes succeed to one another - ie: they are cool but they lack that tiny extra effort to make them consistently great - in a well-produced fashion (and that's where Moore really bothered). Cool, but could've been way cooler.

What a return for the long-standing electronic producer on a dark and energetic EDM album. ?Quest for Fire? has a true list of longstanding, deep, and up-and-coming producers and rappers on many of the tracks and they all meld together so well that it?s amazing to see that happen in 2023. Skrillex does such a splendid job of balancing the experimentation of the record with the modern-day pop of EDM that it really keeps you coming back for more. Could really see many of these tracks being played on a small dark dance floor/rave.
