Spwctacular techy prog metal weitten way before stuff like this was even in the picture. A Sceptic?s Universe was mindbending when released in 2005, yet Sieges Even did something similar as early as 1988! This is a true gem! Time-signature wank to the max, and just mad rhythmical playing and note choices.

It's like Watchtower! Except it isn't! The vocals are really bad...is this what everyone else hears on Control and Resistance?

While for the majority of Sieges Even's career they have been most influenced by Rush, Life
Cycle is by far most closely related to Watchtower (though one could argue that Psychotic
Waltz's early work more resembled Life Cycle than Life Cycle resembled Watchtower's
"Engergetic Disassebly"). This album is drenched in Watchtower influence, borrowing both
their overall style (a then-unseen angular, progressive, highly technical thrash) to details
like the flamboyant vocals and use of electronic toms. Fortunately, Sieges Even manage to
distinguish themselves from Watchtower by employing a slower pace, more prominent sense of
melody, and influences from other heavy metal and thrash metal groups (occasionally even
incorporating some psychedelic music). Life Cycle suffers from the same problems as other
tech-metal albums of its time (poor production, overbearing vocals, and terrible electronic
tom samples), but is an essential listen for anyone trying to understand the origins of
tech-metal and progressive metal.
