Parannoul is ONE GUY?!! Not this shit again. My favourite album of the year thus far, liable for a 4.5

a level up in the biggest sense. i think my favorite part is just how much happier/optimistic this album sounds compared to "to see the next part of the dream." parannoul is in a much better place mentally, and it really comes through on this album. it's neat to see/hear the progress.

Year after year Parannoul pops up on the albums you must look into lists and year after year it feels like another noisy, gazey, dreamy album that blends a lot of different influences and perhaps utilizes the quiet to loud noisy build just a bit too much. The songs tend to blend together and it feels like they have a similar structure in most cases. Perhaps I am the problem here as Parannoul got that real hype.

Parannoul expands on his ideas. Whereas After the Magic still suffers from being a cooler collection of sounds than a composition tour de force, this lo-fi sadgaze aesthetic of his is enhanced by strings and other forays into ambient, which ultimately makes the hour-long journey more palatable than the previous one.
