Strong 2 - Go on and take your best shot____!!!!
On ''LIFE'' Dope desperately tries to move away from their original Industrial rock-ish style, ,,Manson's'' shadow, and acquire their own original style. On paper that sounds like a good idea. IN REALITY....not so much
tbh it starts off pretty solid with memorable opener and two solid Nu-metallish songs after that, but then for some reason !!! ,,STOP'' kicks off with that horrid chorus and just awful songwriting, then the next couple of songs sound like they were all written according to the same blueprint ,,Die MF Die'', ,,Move it'' or ,,Crazy'' are all just atrocious, plus I just can't get through big part of this album without cringing at the lyricism on some of these songs, it sounds like it was written by 5 year old...Yeah..
And that sums up the album perfectly, It has some other ALRIGHT moments through the album, such as the post-grungey ,,What about'' or the extremely cheesy but enjoyable ,,Slipping away'', but that just isn't enough to make me interested in the final product.

Sadly the industrial in this album had been metamorphosed into hard rock (at least for the first 3 tracks the sound was apparent). Then their nu-metal roots became so ingrained in this album that the sound began to parallel that of Korn... If musicians wish to gain sincere approval and loyal fanbase, I assume every band/musician attempts this feat by trying to form a UNIQUE sound. Also, I know that nu-metal gets a bad rep but there are a few good albums that exist. There are even good nu-metal albums that came as late as '05 (ex: SOAD's Hypnotize). This album, however, doesn't show any significant improvement from their first album w/ the drastic shift from their industrial beginnings. Some tracks even resemble other previous band names - track 8's vocals & instrumentations sound like an attempt at a White Zombie sound. For being generally more tame than their 1st, this album doesn't even deserve an average rating.
