Visceral black metal itches a particular spot. Misthyrming's third album itches that spot with an old-school aggressive energy nicely counterbalanced by more modern, melodic tones.

Monstrous and evil. Misthyrming's dissoblack meets Mayhem's melodicity and Marduk's "martial" rhythmicity. Með hamri is pretty much the "dark horse" of the year. I believe it's amazing to witness the uprise of the Icelandic scene in the past few years, and Misthyrming has proved here that they are in their prime.
