I guess this one feels more sincere lyrically? helps the otherwise-mundane music out a bit maybe, both in perception n execution... if recent albums were headin this way, I would have no idea cuz I only ever heard the (mediocre/shallow) debut other than radio singles I'd almost leave buildings/cross the street to get away from...

Godsmack deliver the kind of music that I enjoy the most and this is the blend of hard-rock-meets-metal. Despite the fiery and melodious vocals of Sully Erna, compositions as a whole are not memorable and choruses lack catchiness. The band has announced that no more albums will be recorded following Lightning Up the Sky. Recommendations: "Surrender", "What About Me", "Best of Times".

Easily their worst album. So bland and boring. You and I and Surrender are the only two songs I like. When Legends Rise was superior to this.

Godsmack is one of my guilty pleasure bands and this album is an improvement over When Legends Rise. I found that a couple of these songs reminded me of some of their earlier albums (mostly IV). All in all it's a typical Godsmack album and that's more than enough for me.
