I imagine when they wrote this album it went something like this:r"Hey man what should come after this part?"r"Idk man, how about another guitar solo?" , yea dude. r*slide, bend, sweep, tap, sweep tap, bend slide annnnnd back to chugrRepeat for entire album.

Not feeling this one. Subpar drums, lackluster production, and no memorable riffs warrants a 2, but the layering is solid at least.

Overall awesome. Good breakdowns and heavy techy riff-age. A bit to "progressive" at some points though. Gets a little hard to follow. But thats what this genre's all about right?
Also the guitar solo at the end of "Nothing Imminent" is SICK. Super jazzy.

Crunchy but technical, Circle of Contempt mix their rather formulaic Meshuggah influenced deathcore with some beautiful melodeath leads which light up this album. Overly layered vocals don't take the gloss off a well produced addition to the list of scandanavian death metal successes.

Drums sound terrible the production overall isn't the best, however a very creative super tech debut album. The drummer is phenomenal and makes an interesting duo with their guitarist's rhythm based riffs. Not a fan of the vocals they took out most of their singing choruses, but they get the job done. This is the closest sounding band to Born of Osiris that I've heard and although that probably turns 90% of you away from them they are both damn good bands. For fans of Djent, polyrhythms, and tech death metal.
