| 4.5 superb | Gary STAFF | September 30th 22 | This surprise LP might be my most favourite Esoctrilihum after all. It's more melodic (like Inhüma, in the same weird-fashioned-way) and the album contains lots of synths, so Saopth's definitely deserves the "atmospheric" tag. The song "Furfhüth" is probably one of the best songs of the year too: cold, mysterious and alien. Saopth's is such a wonderful eldritch avant-garde atmo-black/death album... and all these genre tags make sense together!!! AOTY 2022 candidate.

| 3.9 excellent | Erwann S. EMERITUS | December 22nd 22 | Much more to my taste than rawr-full Consecration, Saopth's sees Asthagul go for a grand, synths-led soundscape. These synths are not there to distribute melodic bread to those left hungry by Consecration; these synths install a mood that invokes as much the coldness of Elegies of the Stellar Wind as the alien aspect of Eternity of Shaog.
