Boring as fuck. Just random jamming for 30 mins straight. New King Gizz sucks. I know I'm an outlier here, but their longer compositions lack direction and focus.

Aside from the music, Gizz have created a remarkable space for themselves in the modern music scene. Through ideas of DIY ethos, running their own merch store & being in control of the creative process, along with tons of touring & a hardworking mentality, a rabid fan base has formed. The band would be well aware their diehards will buy almost everything they throw out there, be it 5 colours of Vinyl for the most recent album, or buying 4 albums in a single year. Even on Spotify the band can bag roughly 500k-1M plays per track, irrespective of album. What would end up being unrecorded or released as B-sides for many bands clearly get allowed through onto many of these releases. The lack of a true all killer album, each & every carrying some fat excess, shows this lack of vetting material. Simply put, the machine keeps its momentum, and it's party for the profit of it rather than the prosper of quality.

"The land before timeland" overstays its welcome. "Hypertension" rules. Overall, it's a fun album, but not their best. On to the next one, I guess.

I don't know if its me or if its this sound they have hung around but I like this band more and more each album. I think their non-prog side doesn't hit me all that hard but their extended tunes really grab me. The Dripping Tap is a favorite of year and these two tunes are in a similar vein
