4.0 excellent | Marlzaurus | November 4th 22 | Excellent pop album! It is what it is. Pop. No need to compare this with anything from their past. Rory's influences are showing. In a VIP from their tour with Holding Absence he specifically said all he was listening to and his influences were pop artists.

3.0 good | connormartini | November 4th 22 | I appreciate Rorys honesty on IG saying he doesnt care theyve gone ?softer? because its the record they needed to write based on the themes, but dang, it just feels a bit lackluster. Like yea its cohesive and catchy but most of the songs feel like theyre missing something or arent going anywhere. Hoping it grows on me

4.0 excellent | Kars Landman | November 4th 22 | A significantly poppier version of Sleeptalk, which really is not a bad thing. Vocals and hooks are still stellar, and the production got an upgrade, fitting the more polished sound they are going for. Great popcore

3.5 great | Brandon Scott EMERITUS | October 4th 22 | This is essentially Sleeptalk Pt.2, which y?know, is fine. These guys do uber-pop post-hardcore better than the majority of their contemporaries and this record just reaffirms that fact.

3.5 great | LotionLord | November 7th 22 | Last 3 tracks are all fantastic. Transition between Parallel and Afterglow is impeccable.

3.5 great | ajcollins15 | November 10th 22 | A new era seems to be shaking up for the 5-piece California band in which they continue to strip their post-hardcore roots and go for a more alternative and synthpop sound over their very emotional and expressive vocals/lyrics. Although the album had a few dull moments here and there with more time I think the band could really encapsulate this style. Still, some really solid highlights throughout the album, and of course, the very potent lyrics will get any mall emo fan riled up.

4.0 excellent | samrparker12 | November 5th 22 | Can totally understand the backlash of the album, especially from the more metalcore fans (me being one of them). However, I found this album thoroughly enjoyable. From the synths, to the great vocals, to the occasional instrumentals, this albums creates some amazing atmosphere at times, especially with the final song. That being said, I do with the album in general had a little more variation, and I think the instrumentals are a little too underutilized (for example, the final song had the most instrumentals, and it is phenomenal). Overall, a solid album, highly recommend if you're either looking for something different or are a fan of pop.
