I haven't stopped liking Biffy Clyro because of their change in sound, and it's not that I hate what they've done with this release. If anything, I'm glad that they finally have the exposure they deserve. However, it's simply not the kind of music I'm interested in listening to, and it's for that reason that this release gets a 2 from me.

This album receives far too much flak from long-standing fans of Biffy Clyro, and while this (as well as their previous album, Puzzle) are great departures from what their earlier releases, taken in it's own right Only Revolutions is a fantastically well-made album on all fronts. All the instruments are handled with an almost cinematic flair, Simon Neil's vocal performance is marvelous throughout, and the songs themselves are a distinct cut above the average rock radio fare. My personal favorite track at the moment would be Whoreses, but they all so strong that I find that statement fluctuates by the day. This is album is without a doubt a departure from the Biffy Clyro of the best, but it manages to maintain the brilliance of those albums, and quite frankly, isn't that the most important way for a band to stay the same?

It's great to hear music like this...just straight rock. It's hard to hear music as solid as this these days, and I love that these guys do it. Great album...highlights are "Mountains" and "Bubbles."

While it's nice to see Biffy finally hit the big time, you can't help but feel sad if this is the standard of music they'll be putting out from now on in order to please Radio 1 listeners.

A really fantastic Biffy Clyro record that gets better every time I listen to it. It has some pop rock classics on it, like 'The Captain' & 'That Golden Rule'. It also has my favorite Biffy song in the form of the brilliant ballad 'Many Of Horrors'. It's restrained from greatness by a few pleasent-yet-autopilot numbers on the second half, and the strange appearence of a remixed 'Mountains' which sees all the savage guitars of the single version annoyingly scrubed off.
