Greatest Fear is good, looks like they have left behind the annoying screamo from the albums before IRE (though Atlas was definitely best of the bunch). IRE was heavier than Reverence but Reverence had more variety, this album didnt live up to the quality of those 2 - the vocal delivery and lyrics are lacking.

Despite alternating between maniacal laughter and sobbing while listening to this, the feeling of relief upon finishing this album was immense... so i have to give it props for that.

Overall a pretty mediocre album. Some parts are exciting, such as the fast-paced "Soul
Bleach", and the triumphant "Imperial Heretic", but the rest of the album (including these
songs, actually) suffer from to say the least atrocious lyrics and vocal delivery.
Wtf.................. Some parts are vocally interesting, such as some brutal deliveries on
"Soul Bleach", but overall it's just insanely cringe. It's even sadder that the instrumentals
aren't *terrible* per say, but overall are still unoriginal and bland at times. Overall,
don't bother unless you're looking to laugh at the absolutely CRINGE vocals. And don't even
get me started on "If a God Can Bleed".......

An exercise in going through the motions, with mixed results. Title track, closer, and The Greatest Fear are solid. Most of this is treading water and not all that great but not bad either. Winston's delivery could use some work - if this exact album was in Whitechapel's hands it probably would be around 4 stars, PhillyBo does this whole style with a lot more conviction. Only issue is "If a God Can Bleed" - who greenlit that?

There's a lot that doesn't work on this album, the vocal deliveries when Winston isn't channeling the classic roar of the Parkway of old are some of the more embarrassing attempts at depth you can find in metal. If there's a cool riff it'll be overshadowed by some other idea that sucks all the joy from the experience, if not an entire song like "If a God Can Bleed" which is hands down the worst song in the band's catalogue. Not entirely unsalvagable of fun but the band sure tries their best to make it that way.
