I know this is a very unpopular opinion, but this album is very, very good. There are many rsongs that are as good as most of Doolittle. In fact a few surpass almost all of it. This ralbum is not as varied and original as their earlier work and thus will not have nearly the rimpact, but as far as songwriting, hooks, and great melodies this is their best work. The rlyrics are terrible. And the energy level is not at the level it was over 30 years ago, but rthose are only areas that are weaker.

Maybe my brain has rotted, but I can't lie: I think this might be the best post-reunion Pixies album yet. At least musically.
However, Frank Black has 100% run out of lyrics. The choruses on this are especially dire. You can count the good lines on this album on one hand.
But they've finally put out a something above a 2.5 at least. Took them long enough.
