Drift-ing further from what made them a good band, woop gottem
E: I don't care if a previously heavy band stays heavy or not (ex. Gates from their debut to
Parallel Lives, Hotelier to Goodness, Trophy Eyes to Chemical Miracle, the entire career
arc of Katatonia... I can keep going), but do it well. They don't do it well.

I just simply don't understand the hate. The album sounds good, more variable than Wait for Love, chaotic at times even. Yes, it's not screamo anymore, but it's a good experimental/indie record with post-hardcore/post-rock elements, you guys need to grow up.

Hate Chase is so bad. I don't know how they recorded this, had this vocal take, had a producer listen to this, someone mix this, and NOBODY said "This is too terrible to release"

Musically it's okay, but the thing letting down is the vocals. They are repetitive and dull. There are almost no memorable hooks on this record. But take away the vocals - and I'd be revisiting it most likely.

Henlo, this is my first review. I feel like with this record they really tried to experiment as much as possible within the confines of their moody, National-y brood rock and did a pretty damn good job. Just needs more hooks!

Yes, this art rock and post-hardcore style are a bit dry at this point, but I have not heard it be this explosive and entertaining in a very long time, and for anyone that is a fan of that 2000s style you will feel right at home with this 3rd album from the band.
