4.0 excellent | Gene Gol-Jonsson CONTRIBUTOR | June 13th 24 | To my great surprise, despite 'From Capelton Hill' being in essence a version of Stars' earlier work stripped back and quainter, its contents are far from barebones or half-hearted. In fact, this may be the first Stars album that is for the most part great and mature. Maybe the age has helped them, maybe some sudden stroke of inspiration. It still is not without its missteps (the misplaced dance beat on "Build a Fire" leaves a foul stench), but still overall their most consistent and enjoyable work.

4.0 excellent | mvdu | June 13th 22 | It is pretty basic Stars album, but just a good Stars sound is enough. They always keep from sounding stale.
