If only people took Viagra Boys as seriously as Viagra Boys take themselves, which is not at all, then we would not have to debate the class of humour or robustness of instrumental finesse or whatever you dweebs dislike about this album.

Hilarious at times and at others just a bit too blunt. Cave World is about as funny and satirical as you can be without becoming the rebirth of The Bloodhound Gang and I certainly appreciate walking that fine line. That being said I think one of 'ADD', 'Creepy Crawlers' or 'The Cognitive Trade-Off Hypothesis' would have sufficed where the truly silly and somewhat nonsensical humor of 'Ain't No Thief' and 'Troglodyte' just works better in volume. A very enjoyable listen for any punk or rock fan I would imagine.

Viagra Boys always were a live band before being a studio one - and they prove on Cave World that they're ready to transform. They finally refine the songwriting of their arena-ready energy while still keeping the foot-stomping grooves and snarky punchlines. It's actually when they let go of infectious grooves that they fall back on Welfare Jazz's faults. Big fucking yay, now imma shake da ass.

A fantastic dance/post-punk record that musically might be the punkest fucking band in years, but lyrically it's full of Twitter/Reddit-level leftist cringe that fails to be as clever as it thinks it is. Fortunately the music is so good you can ignore most of it.

Dance-punk has always been one of those genres for me that I can never seem to get into, and past Viagra boys release were on that list. However, ?Cave World? feels more experimental and explosive than even some of the heavy hitters in dance punk. I would imagine there is some heavy Daughters influence laced between these songs with how songs and lyrics sort of come together. Overall, an interesting and intense listen, but there are still areas where I could deal without.
