For example, ?Daylight? is a banging synth-driven psychedelic pop track. While ?Cinema? is a funky and synthie disco track that bleeds the lines between dad yacht rock and classic 80s boogie music. Even the lead single ?As It Was? is a fun power pop and bedroom pop feel of a classic Vampire Weekend track. However, that also leads to the biggest issue that still plagues Harry?s music; the distracting influences laced throughout the album. For example, I cannot be the only one who listened to the opening guitar chords of ?Matilda? and laughed out loud at how American Football it is, but much much worse. Or how New Order-ie ?Satellite? is pretty uncanny. Still, I like the album and I think it is the best-written album from Harry, but there are still some weird stumbles all throughout the album.

He takes influence from past greats - Mars does it with funk and soul, Styles does it with soft and pop rock - and blands it all to create an easy-listening record that neither grabs your attention nor makes you want to furiously turn the muzak off.

| 3.0 good | lz41 | May 23rd 22 | 'As It Was' is absolutely delightful (for all its very pointed uber-fame loneliness), 'Grapejuice' is a taut, brawnier rocker and 'Love of My Life' is the anti-ballad to blow out the candle on the album.

many meandering slow pieces. Maybe it'll grow on me more with repeated listens
