Extol departs from the full on death metal formula used on their first two releases and goes with a recipe that embodies a very technical style of thrash. Some will not appreciate the amount of technical expertise employed by the band, but for those that do, it's a musician's paradise. For that reason, the album will take a few full length listens to take in. All songs are well written while displaying complex riffs and the occasional solo performed by their talented lead guitarist, as well as a variety of extremely tight drum patterns and fills performed by the drummer. Last, but not least, a variety of different types of vocals round out the elements used in the songs. Listeners will hear everything from high pitched screams to low pitched grows. Well incorporated clean vocals are used throughout as well. In summary, Extol's venture into thrash metal is a sonic treat.
