This guy reminds me so much of an acquaintance I had in high school. He even had a similar haircut
and face, and most of his time was spent bumming cigarettes off other people and saying something
to the effect of "bruh", "dope", or "dank" at the end of every sentence. We don't talk anymore

Despite what many may say here and elsewhere online, *Tickets to My Downfall* was a legitimately good *pop* record. It deserved the acclaim, though maybe not the "prince of pop punk" title Billboard has since bestowed upon MGK. This, unfortunately, is nowhere near the same level. Most of these tracks feel like awkward, cast out B-sides from the *Tickets* sessions. While *Tickets* certainly had a cringey lyric here and there, this record seems to have them on every track, and the vocal flows just aren't as silky smooth across the board, making some of those awkward moments stand out more. "God Save Me," "Make Up Sex," "Papercuts" and of course "emo girl" all suffer from this. And "Die in California" starts off great, but is borderline ruined by a couple mumble rap verses on the back half. There's a few moments that salvage this from being a complete trainwreck though: "Maybe" is fantastic, but under the surface its just "Misery Business 2.0." "Drug Dealer [Girl]" is also a pretty solid song, but if it sounds all too familiar to the *Tickets* album, that's because it was written for that (and the demo has been floating around the internet since then). "WW4" and "Born With Horns" are two pretty cool yet pretty obvious Barker-blink songs. Maybe its true what they say though, that once you fall in love you can't write good music anymore....? It?s relatively a short album by today?s standards but 40 minutes has never seemed so long. You could probably predict every rhyme on the album if you cared about what came next instead of ignoring it

One of the most painful listening experiences in the history of Pop Punk. MGK's passionless, constant mid range vocals coupled with some of the most generic, bland instrumentation make this album borderline unlistenable. I would say that it's simplistic Hot Topic white noise music, but even that may be too high of a standard for this album. If anybody ever wanted to make the argument that Pop Punk is a dead genre, this album would be a hard sell.

MGK proves that he still can't make pop-punk. I expected this record to be listenable, at least, but terrible lyrics, guitars, etc., etc., makes this album a chore to sit through. Ugh.

Starting from the first track, there were laughs abound for me, at points where they clearly weren't intending humor. The instrumentals and overall structure wasn't too bad at the beginning of the album, but then the laughs start to give way to "really?" followed by "you really felt the need to do that?" and then "this is so bad." That's the most applicable description I can come up with right now. Why is it always some girl? Girls aren't the official metaphor for everything on the planet, bud.

I have no patience for artists that are reduced to imitators like it is the case here. Travis Barker being on this album makes it even worse. This simply sounds like a Blink 182 knockoff. No originality whatsoever here. If thats your thing you'll be lapping this record up. Otherwise, move along nothing wirth your while here
