| 2.5 average | cjbizzlebizzle | December 28th 22 | Beach House have had many really great moments throughout their decorated career but I just don't see how this record is a step up from their last one. I listened to this record a few times and really fail to recall a single moment from it. Going through it again now, my feelings remain unchanged. It is Beach House... what do you do when a group has carved out their sound so hard that you feel like you have heard it all before a million times? Long and samey and why are there 4 discs?

| 3.5 great | ghostalgeist | March 2nd 22 | gorgeous and lush but too samey throughout - almost *too* easy to zone out to this. the lyric videos for all of these songs are abstract masterpieces though, I kinda love them all. the standout tracks are excellent: title track, Superstar, Sunset, Many Nights, and especially The Bells and (the crown jewel) Masquerade, two of the best songs I've heard this year. these songs are so good that I wish I could rank this higher, but taken as a whole it's repetitive.

| 3.0 good | platttt | May 24th 25 | the idea of going for variety was great---that's what beach house desperately needs, because in their other projects they're consistent to a fault. however, the last of the four sections really fails to grab my interest

| 0.0 | didnt ask to be staff, was made staff anyway, then got demoted for not doing staff stuff | March 18th 22 | I belong to the odd-one-out category of Beach House fan that started appreciating their records in the latter half of their discography repertoire. For one reason or another, the downright spaceage melancholy of 'Depression Cherry' onward output is what mainly got me to appreciate the rest of their discography even more. 'Once Twice Melody', somehow even more than their ultimately cathartic '7', sounds like a crossroads and a unifier of all sounds, influences and influential leanings Beach House have apparelled.

| 3.5 great | Introu1 | February 28th 22 | even if the first half of the album is really good, the rest feels dragged and filled with fillers. The whole special concept about the four parts doesnt even work that well. Anyway, overrated, but still a fun album 3,3/5

| 3.5 great | charlopiano | February 27th 22 | The weird structure of this album kinda didn't work for me, but I can see this getting better for me by the end of the year

| 0.0 | PrincyAli | February 25th 22 | The duo return for a dreamy but slow paced album. 4.5/5 Favs: Once Twice Melody, Superstar, Pink Funeral, Through Me, Runaway, New Romance, Over and Over, Sunset, Another Go Around, Masquerade, Illusion of Forever, Finale, The Bells, Hurts to Love, Modern Love Stories

| 3.5 great | Daneleslie | February 22nd 22 | Very pleasant. Not my favourite, but tons of highlights (Superstar, ESP, Sunset, Only You Know, Masquerade, Finale-Many Nights)

| 4.5 superb | BrushedRed | February 19th 22 | The indescribable, luxurious, pleasure we've all come to know and expect from Beach House. It can be a less-than-enthusiastic experience for some, but if you've followed the band over all these years, they are doubling down on their sound while upping the production. The end result is a wonderful opus revisiting sounds from older albums but compiling it into something new to get lost in. Sure it might not reach the heights of Bloom or Depression Cherry, but it does bring several new highlights for the band, namely "Superstar," "Many Nights," "Modern Love Stories," and "New Romance". Probably my 3rd favorite Beach House album so far.

| 4.0 excellent | iGuter | February 18th 22 | Nearly an hour and a half, with some of the strongest material in their career; Beach House put you on a journey with them that?s satisfying and gorgeous.

| 4.5 superb | Cubacabra | February 15th 22 | So many of Beach House's songs seem nostalgic in a way. I've often wondered if they are cleverly ripping off well known tunes. Oh well. Love this shit!
