0.0 | Thompson D. Gerhart STAFF | February 21st 22 | Weird, but interesting. Not altogether incoherent, but certainly spastic, dissonant, and clearly the product of talent. There's no accusing this album of being without design, but the necessarily non-linear and style-abandoning approach take some getting used to. This is something I feel like I'll play a few times before I even start to really get it, but it's easy to see its value from the first spin.

3.5 great | Blud Vidal | February 3rd 22 | ECHT is eclectic, dizzying, and nervous, just as one would expect from an 11-piece comprising members of four French math-adjacent groups. The compositions are wonderfully free-flowing at the intersection of improvised frenzy and calculated experimentation. A cohesive narrative would propel this record to greater heights, but it's a fun, challenging listen.
