| 4.5 superb | ajcollins15 | March 22nd 22 | On the third album from the growing Spanish artist Rosalia, she continues to evolve past her Spanish and avant-folk roots for a more electronic and pop-focused neoperreo and flamenco Nuevo album. For the 42-minutes the album is going you will be presented with a variety and explosive showing off what she has built the past few years. From the glitchy and industrial flair of ?Saoko? to the ambient and glitchy ?G3 N15? there is really a sound and style for all those who want something. My biggest gripe is the live closer ?Sakura? leaves me scratching my head because it doesn?t exactly fit with the rest of the vibe. But otherwise a really beautiful and artists album that anyone and everyone should hear.

| 3.5 great | Bedex | May 4th 23 | Honestly I found this rather underwhelming. The first two tracks are very cool, and led me to think this would be an album that takes reggaeton beats, distorts them and plays with them to create tracks with depth and weird prod that aren't really meant for the club. But after that, the main qualifier I'd use is 'forgettable'. It applies to 3-4, and then 5 at least has a beat but it is barely bearable. Oh btw all of these feel rather disjointed. Weirdly in this album the emotional tracks that stand out and save the day, largely thanks to the pretty pianos and R's excellent voice. 6, 12, and perhaps 13 although it is more interesting and synthy fall in that category. 7 has a beat and is a bit perky but ultimately not my cuppa hugely, while 8 has kinda cool prod with the elctronic voices and the organ and stuff, but ultimately it still feels like a filler track. 10 also kinda passes after an interlude, while 11 is a fun transition track with cintage cupheadey noises in the back. 14 is again an interlude, and 15 is quite tepid until it slightly improves once the beat kicks in halfway in. The closer is also a beautiful, very well performed emotional track that at least works as a conclusion and as a display of R's vocals. Bonus: 16 bis is ,just a skit, 17 is okay silly fun, 18 is the club version of 2 with annoying voices, 19 is slightly less forgettable than its studio ver, 20 is pretty neat ambientish+vocals track, 21 is an okay syncopated beat track, 22 is basically an interlude, 23 is another track with a weird beat but is quite interesting. 3.35

| 5.0 classic | cjbizzlebizzle | December 3rd 22 | The obvious pick for pop album of the year sees Rosalia evolving her sound further into the Pop world and further out of the Flamenco sound. The album rides the fine line between artsy pop and proper pop fabulously as all of the most interesting and addicting modern pop records do. You get the catchy earworms and the songs that allow for deep inspection. Motomami has seemingly endless replay value and great pacing as Rosalia places the dramatic between the groovy. Seeing how hyperpop and disco/80s adoration has been such a strong force in pop music over the last half decade it was hard to see where the genre would be pushed next but Rosalia has taken the torch and pushed the genre towards Spanish/Latin influences. The album shines when experienced on the whole but some highlights are 'Saoko', 'La Fama', 'Bizcochito', 'Diablo','La Combi Versace' and 'Sakura'. The only thing better than listening to this album in 2022 was seeing it live, with a crowd that is often as loud or louder than the music it is an inspirational experience.

| 4.5 superb | bYOndo | May 1st 22 | Firstly, her voice is so beautiful she can sing
anything she wants (and her "non-english" language
is a plus). On top of that, this record is pure
fun as intended to be, but it has some serious
musical value too, such as the minimalistic
approach (you can use it only if your musical
ideas are solid) and the latin folklore melting
pot (not only flamenco, but also rhumba,
bachata,samba...).
And man, "G3 N15" drives me to tears every fuc*ing
time!

| 3.6 great | Erwann S. EMERITUS | April 26th 22 | Rosalia goes POP. Byebye flamenco, hello neoperreo (basically reggaeton that doesn't always use the same BPM). It doesn't mean she's losing what made her great in the first place: it's not all about shaking da ass; it's also about lamenting about love. This dichotomy is at the center of the album, each boom-boom track followed by a sadgirl one. An extremely interesting record.
