Absolutely crushing record. Technical as f**k. Only thing keeping this from perfection is a slightly better production. However, this is by no means poorly produced, it's the ONLY Nile album that is actually well produced. Part of the reason why it's my favorite Nile album.

Nile released another album. They're so cute.
But seriously, this album is simply another regurgitation of everything they've made from In Their Darkened Shrines onward. George Kollias is still obnoxiously fast, the solos still make Kerry King look like he knows what he's doing, and Dallas still sounds like a dishwasher. Not to mention the added pseudo-Egyptian clean vocals are some of the most lol-worthy additions to any metal album this year. Every once in a while a riff will come along that absolutely rules, but you won't remember it for long. Overall, it's just Nile shitting out another album just because it's been another two years.

Nile should just call it quits. There only two good albums are Annihilation of the Wicked and Amongst the Catacombs of Nephran-Ka

Nile delivers once again - furious riffs, exotic harmonies and liberal experimentation make this album a winner. The only reason it isn't a classic is because Nile's already done it all and better.

I just don't get it. They aren't particularly Egyptian for being Egyptian themed. They aren't that technical, they aren't that brutal, they're kinda just... okay. It's like they got contracted out to write Egyptian Death Metal, and they do so strictly according to the instructions.

Oh my god. How cool can a band get at all? 'Permitting the noble dead to descend to the underworld' is only one of the "out of this world"-compositions of these guys from South Carolina. The only thing I don't like on this album is the guy in tower calling them to pray. Sounds so weird.

Hugely consistent release that unfortunately drags on a little too long. The songs are all rather good and the riffing is as powerful as it gets but unfortunately this gets rather boring at times.

The best Nile album a long time! Ithyphallic was fair but paled in comparison to AOTW when it comes to creativity. This new album is like a breath of fresh air and somehow manages to make the tried and tested egyptian themed death metal sound so new and interesting! well done nile, a bone crushing record with the best production quality ever heard on a nile album

Album has it's short moments of pure brilliance, but sadly it's drowned out by the vast majority of filler, and uninspired BDM which at times sounds virtually the same as some of their past songs. Production wise, this album is superb, easily the best in this category. "Utterances of the Crawling Dead" is probably the best song on the album.
