whether you like korn or not shouldnt matter because the influence this and meantime had on mainstream rock/metal is undisputed. love this to bits, still evokes more chaos and destruction than your average "extreme" metal band does

Has great, crushing and relentless riffs but lacks a punch. Nearly every song does know how to shred instrumentally but is rather atonal. The good thing is, Helmet would easily get better from here.

There's something very enthralling about Helmet's debut album. Is it Page Hamilton's droning, but also commanding voice? Surely it has to be the untamed, yet even quick-on-the-uptake drumming... No, as a matter of fact, it's all of this plus a bit more. Man, does Strap It On have such a raw sound!

To think I called 'Meantime' raw! Their future albums almost sound 'pop' compared to this. The riffs are blockhead but crushing, the solos sound like electrical equipment malfunctioning. Probably the most moshable music you're not supposed to mosh to.
