AOTY contender for sure. The production is so good every other dm band should deliberately try to achieve this level of clarity and dynamic range. Best dm album Ive heard this year 2 Bumps \| Bump

Although this isn't totally my style, this is some really solid music. I think I need to spend more time with this kind of thing (Ulcerate two years ago and Ad Nauseum last year were the same for me). Best metal album of the year so far IMO. The atmosphere on this thing is unreal, the touches of ambient and industrial worked in are perfectly done, the performances are visceral while still being extremely tight, and good lord the vocals are something else. Profound Lore never disappoints when it comes to this kind of cavernous blackened death metal but this is maybe my favorite they've released in this style.

It is an odyssey, alright, but instead of journeying ahead I feel like being stuck in one torturous place and moment in time. Oppressive and dark and giving very little room to breathe (not that it should). Bump

Two-thirds of Flourishing reunite. Woo for dissodeath! The Ailing Facade is murky yet its details constantly reveal their beauty thanks to the absolute bonkers production. Likewise, the subtle yet always present industrial touches bring another level of insanity to an already pissed-the-fuck-off record. Bump
