First album from a great band. Not as heavy as future releases but still incredibly heavy. Stone Magnet is a monster groove that needs to be heard.

Having listened to all the later releases before this one, I was really surprised by the way it sounds. Much more polished sounding production, less distorted guitars, and clean vocals. All this said, it's still heavy as f***, just the way it should be. Also interesting to see the band once forayed into more ambient psychedelic sounds like evident on 'Mountains of Mars'. Very nice album.

Real solid doom debut from a band that would go on to become one of the greatest to ever do it.. Funny enough, this was their cleanest recorded release in guitar tone, vocals, all around production etc etc.. I think the more raw, aggressive, dark sound they went on to portray on later albums fits them better, but that doesn't take away from the fact that this is a stellar little nugget of 90's doom.
