This one just as much a classic as Sky Valley. Maybe doesn't have quite the same flow. But the one-two punch of openers Hurricane and One Inch Man, tons of other killer tracks, then that monster closer, Spaceship Landing--which is in my top 5 Kyuss tracks. ... Well, it doesn't have Lick My Doo. But other than that...!

(One Hour Later) Good, really good, perhaps the most enjoyable Kyuss album to listen to. With the exception of the last song, it does away with much of their usual nonsense. However, being album 4, it does show why the band ended after this, it seems creatively dried up at this point, shame they couldn't find a big voice vocalist to add a new dimension in my opinion. Very relistenable, but none of the songs stand out enough on their own.

Circus is a often overlooked album but it shouldn't be. Some tracks are easily on the level of Sky Valley with that muddy, obscured desert sound, while the others keep an above average level. r

On this album Kyuss strip their songs down to the bare bones and in doing so loose much of what made them such a fantastic band. Gone are the long tripped out instrumental explorations and multi-song journeys that took you to the stars and back. Instead we have short, self contained songs that while being more immediate than the music on 'Blues For The Red Sun' and 'Welcome To Sky Valley' are plagued by limp riffs and performances that suggest the band would rather be elsewhere.
