2.0 poor | Robinanimate | November 8th 23 | The production quality is better than ever, but the songwriting is uninspired from start to end. This is their weakest release since (r)Evolution imo, which is odd since the band performs well instrumentally and seemed to be on a roll with the prior two releases. Might they have choked on the overload of cheeze dripping from that god-awful artwork...

4.0 excellent | Antonius | June 4th 22 | Hammerfall is probably the most consistent band in the field of European power metal. Hammer of Dawn is an uplifting, bombastic album where the traditional power metal of the Swedes is deliveredreffortlessly at varying speeds. Thunderingly powerful with harmonic riffs and emphatic melodies, Hammerfall has hit the nail on the head once again. Compositions and lyrics remain traditional while rthere are numerous rousing choruses with Joacim Cans being the driving force with his indestructible, evergreen and powerful voice.

4.0 excellent | Mitch | March 14th 22 | Wait, this is actually good? I was convinced these guys were gonna release middling albums for the rest of their career, but this was a very pleasant surprise. No Son of Odin is probably one of the best songs these guys have ever recorded.

3.5 great | hangth3dj | March 9th 22 | Everything you expect, and indeed need or want, from a HammerFall record. The title track in particular is elite cheesy power metal.
THUNDER! LIGHTNING!
HAMMER! FIGHTING!

4.5 superb | SpideryMan | February 28th 22 | The performances are genuine and Hammerfall
really does seem like a vehicle driven by
emotion, and less by a calculated need to
shred. Though there is still some gnarly
riffage. Incredibly solid outing as long as you
consider the band's slavish devotion to cheese.
