Not even particularly terrible, in fact there's a few songs on here I genuinely like, but the atmosphere surrounding this band is insufferable. This is post-punk for people who don't listen to post-punk, music for people who don't listen to music. Whatever the reality of this band's quick trajectory to stardom really is, it's just depressing to see people label them as something truly special, amidst an already thriving music scene that people clearly cannot be bothered to search for. Neither committing to emotional potency or sarcastic disinterest, this is just the veneer of "post-punk" filtered through the inoffensive sensibilities of indie-pop. I just wish people would stop pretending this is more than it is.

"This is post-punk for people who don't listen to post-punk" Yeah, pretty much, but it's not like theirs is some overly hideous brand of the genre. The duo can craft a great track with a bounty of influences, cleverly sprawling together. It's not like it's a complete miss of an album. It ain't the saviour of post-punk either, but who really expected that.

I guess listening to about 3 songs of this is fun enough (it doesn't actually matter which ones), but an album full of this band just doesn't work.

Another one. Wet Leg are kinda inoffensive in that it's by-the-numbers post-punk revival, but hey it's kinda fun y'know. Not *that* fun, but cool background muzak for the upcoming sunny dayz. 3.1
